The fertile green countryside of Timboon offers a picturesque setting for a feast of luscious berries with a difference. Berry World is a pick-your-own berry farm that specialises in the high flavour varieties of strawberries that you won't find in the supermarkets. You can also pick hybrid blackberries (which grow to twice the size of your normal blackberry) and a range of other berry fruits are being planted and will be available in the future.
Located in the heart of southwestern Victoria, Berry World is an easy drive of Warrnambool, Port Campbell, the Twelve Apostles, Camperdown and Terang. With a range of other "foodie" outlets in the region, such as Timboon Farmhouse Cheese and Timboon Fine Icecream, a trip to Timboon makes a great gourmet day trip from Colac and Geelong too.
At Berry World wide grassed picking paths between rows prevent dust and mud. Pushers, children and wheelchairs are welcome. The wide paths enable easy access for families and for wheel chairs. The setting is peaceful - small birds abound, a public golf course is opposite and shady afternoon parking is available.
Berries are available from November to mid April. Strawberries have the longest season (from November to mid April) and the Blackberries are available around Christmas and New Year. The farm is open to the public Tuesdays through to Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Special arrangements can be made for other times and for visits from groups.
